The Oaks Primary School.  Brilliant!

I had a great afternoon at this school and the session went really well.  Apart from hearing the giggling during the session I know it has been a good one by the collective sigh of disappointment from two year groups when I say "And that is probably a good place to end the session!"
Jess, one of the teachers was delightful, and keeps a tight ship with some very excitable children and she'll recommend it to the other schools in their group.   Another fabulous session.  The children were very bright and came up with some great stuff.

I just had the most fabulous evening that I have had in some years.Darren Gooding and I just picked over the characters in 'The Bucket'. It was wonderful to sit and actually catch up but more than that, hugely flattering to have somebody ask what, why and how and who and when about my work. When Darren has applied his huge vocal talent to the book I feel I shall owe him a huge debt of gratitude. It was like the 'New Route Theatre Company' had re-emerged in some grown up sort of way. It is brilliant to be working with my old friend again. For those of you who may not know Darren was one of the best actors we had in our theatre company and went on to develop his own vast array of characters, radio plays and theatre productions with the 'I hear voices' theatre company' 'ManlyTruelove' and a host of other brilliant characters and caricatures. I feel truly honoured to have him be my Narrator.

My aim in these workshops is to make it easier for children to understand how to write a story. So D J Cattrell is not just about books but about giving kids practical easy structures to understand all aspects of stories and how important they are in life from newspaper articles to Greek Myths around television programmes and over the hill of history.  Stories are what we are, how we remember our world and how we make sense of it.
All children can make stories after all they are living one!
